This & That

"This & That" is the subject line I use when I e-mail Hubby at work with things that I don't believe warrant my 74th call to him for the day. You know what I mean like something that I just saw on tv or what it looks like the neighbors are doing, etc. The things he could care less about but I just have to tell somebody. Well that is the purpose of this post, and I can already tell it is just going to be ramblings. So you really don't need to continue reading this unless you what to know the thoughts that are going through my head at this particular moment.

:) Last night I decided to work on my hobby, I got my list and coupons and went to Target and Walmart. I left the house around 8:30p.m. and got home around 11:15p.m. - crazy I know! I thought I would have a nice quiet evening with no kids and just enjoy the night. Well wouldn't you know I get to Target and every where I turned there was a screaming kid. I think this one lady with 2 screaming toddlers was stalking me. Every aisle I went in there she was. I wanted to yell at the top of my lungs "Get away from me!!! Don't you people know it is their bedtime, that is why they are screaming." I know, I know, I am the perfect parent that never puts my kids in such circumstances.

:) This morning I call Hubby at work and say, "Last night I bought around $75 worth of stuff and only spent $35!" His reply, "Was it stuff we need?" What kind of reply is that???!!! Of course we need 6 Johnson & Johnson Bath Buddies Soaps, 2 more cans on tomatoes to add to our stock pile of canned tomatoes, 2 more boxes of anti-acid medication, food coloring and body wash. You can never have enough of these things. Of course it was stuff that we NEED!

:) This whole week I've been getting bright pink flyers on my front door stating United Water is going to be disrupting our service. After starting the dishwasher and the washing machine, I realized I should read the flyer to make sure I have water today. Luckily they are disrupting the water on Monday and not today. At first I was annoyed. I mean how can you go from 9am to 3pm without water? Then I realized that they are actually giving me a vacation day. No water means no laundry, no dishes, no mopping the floor (I guess I could use the Swiffer Wet Jet - but that's besides the point), no wet work! What's left to do? I think I will send United Water a thank you note.

:) Princess has refused to sleep in her toddler bed since we made it into a toddler bed several months ago. Well Hubby and I just got a new bed so we had to move furniture around. We put the the old guest bed in Princess's room to make her 3-in-1 crib into the double bed. We don't have the frame, so we just put the mattress and box spring on the floor. Since then Princess has slept every night and all night in her new bed. She loves it! I am so happy to have her out of our room (she has been sleeping on a cushion on our bedroom floor). She has also napped on our bed since she's been a little over a year old. Now she takes her naps in her room on her new bed. Who knew it would be that easy? (On a side note, if anyone has a double bed frame with head board and foot board attachments that you don't want anymore, we would be happy to take it off of your hands.)

:) Little Guy has been walking for about a month now. He goes everywhere. AAAHHH!

:) Little Guy's vocabulary is increasing. He says uh-oh, Tic Tac, Back Pack (for Dora and Elmo?), Hi, Mama, Dada, and stinky. I think there is more. I just can't think of any of his other words right now.

:) Is it sad that I started a Christmas list for myself already? Christmas is only 5 months away so I guess it isn't that awful. Here is what I have put on my list so far: Cuisinart waffle maker (I had homemade waffles several months ago and they are so much yummier than the frozen kind), nice tea towels, pretty bathroom hand towels (right now there is a tea towel in my bathroom), new comforter set for my new bed (although I want to pick this out myself). Not too bad of a start. I know it won't take long for it to grow.

Well I think that is all for now. Sorry if you read this entire post. I did warn you from the beginning. Now off to fold laundry, well after I help Princess write a post.

This post was great - you definitely need all of those things! :) I hope that you also "bought" some more toothpaste too, you never know when you might run out :)

I actually went to Rite Aid last night - I think that I might start getting into their rebate program a little more...we will see!

I like the words that your little guy is saying - so cute!

BTW - you have such a great sense of humor - when you write and also in person!

LOL - I love the "Get away from me. . . " line - I ALWAYS think that about people who are griping about their kids' behavior that late at night in a store. Oddly, when I lived in Mech., I used to see the same couple moms moaning and groaning their way thru the stores at 9 p.m. (when my kids were sleeping and The Boss home on guard duty) and I'd always grin and shake my head in wonder. Seriously, I swear they were the same couple gals every other week. Maybe they shop at Target now?!

I think this is one of my most favoritist posts ever!

Seriously...you should do this every Friday. You could call it T-N-T. I was giggling so much - a lot at Dave's response and I think that just set me up to continue giggling through the rest of the list. Simms actually asked "are you okay in there?"

BTW I think that I would pay $$ just to see you yell "Get away from me!!" at the store. Seriously. I'm still giggling picturing you - YOU - losing your temper and actually yelling at some complete stranger.

This was a GREAT post! I read the whole and you left me wanting more! I agree with TCC you need to do this every Friday.

I read your post to the end - pretty funny, couldn't stop!

Christmas - shame on you for bringing up that subject and reminding me that I need to start shopping - to commercial for me anymore.

And the kids in the store - well I vote for ADULT ONLY sections in restaurants! Everytime we go out (and it's often) we seem to get seated by a family that has no control over their kids or just don't give a darn that they are bothering other paying customers!

Right now we are in NM at a campground without kids - yea!! It's not that I don't like them it's just, well, I like the peace and quite better - LOL!

Your cousin a couple of time removed!

Another vote for making this a weekly thing!

Sleeping in her own bed? Awesome.
Walking and talking? Fantastic.
Starting your Christmas list? Give me a break, who can think that far ahead when school starts in less than 5 weeks!!
