My First Fast

Two weeks ago, our pastor asked us to participate in a 10-day corporate fast. He didn't tell us what we should omit (except that fasting meant omitting food...not TV, etc). He just told us to pray and ask God what we were to omit. My fast consisted of omitting one meal a day, eating no sweets, and only drinking water.

Today is the last day. I don't think that I have ever done a fast before...at least not seriously. When I began this fast, I thought I was going to be super spiritual. Well, that's not how it turned out. The first couple of days was really rough. I think the devil was trying to get me to stop the fast. I was not a very nice person to be around. I yelled at the kids more than I normally do. At one point, I had to ask for their forgiveness.

I did see breakthrough though. Princess pooped on the potty 2 times. Dave has not been feeling good since December. Yesterday, that changed. He is on some new meds, but feeling so much better. You can tell just by looking at him. And our furnace has been giving us problems (this seems to be a yearly thing). This morning it seems to be doing fine. I am going to believe that it has been "fixed". I'm so excited to see what else God is going to do in this "year of breakthrough". I will let you know.

Now my question is: Is it OK to eat a peanut butter cup and drink a Pepsi for breakfast tomorrow?

That is so awesome! About Dave feeling good, the furnace, the poop. I'm so excited for the breakthrough for your family through your obedience and the fast you guys did. And you should totally have a peanut butter cup and Pepsi for breakfast tomorrow. I thought about you yesterday when I saw a Reese's in the check-out at Target. :)

That's so exciting! What a great testimony!! I am very passionate about allowing God to be in control, of even the "little" things. And, NO...there is no harm in having reese's & pepsi for breakfast tomorrow!! Indulge & enjoy!

It is so good to hear that you allowed the Lord to be your source and meet you in so many ways in the last 10 days. May you continue to experience breakthrough in many ways in the days ahead!!!

And, you are free to make whatever choice you want concerning food and drink tomorrow!!!
