One of God's Many Lessons

I had a friend and her little girl over last week. Of course we were sitting there chatting while our two little girls played with toys. Thirty minutes into them being here, I noticed that my daughter wanted every toy that her friend was already playing with. She would grab it from her, play with it for a couple seconds, then throw it aside.

I began to think, "Isn't it something that from the time are little babies until now, we always want what someone else has." The more I think about it, I realize that is what I do - I want what someone else has. I get it. Then it still doesn't make me happy.

Now I need to learn how to be happy with what I have, so that I can teach my little girl to be grateful for what she has.

God really does teach us lessons as moms!

And I saw that all labor and all achievement spring from man's envy of his neighbor. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind. (Ecc 4:4)

Isn't it amazing how much our children can and do teach us about our loving Heavenly Father!?! Thanks for sharing this.

And thanks for leaving your link at "My Quiet Corner". Welcome and know you are invited back any time!

Hi. Welcome to the Nieghborhood. I found you at My Quiet Corner. It is a hard quest to learn to be happy with what you have, but it is reachable, if we keep trying. Just remember, you can not take any of this material stuff with us to heaven. Thats what i tell me kids.

I've watched you over the past 8 years and have seen how God has taught you to be content with what you have. We all have a tendency to want, but I've seen that you have learned to say that "I don't really need that" and it makes me very proud because I can remember a day when you couldn't do that. God is faithful and he gives us over and above what we need.
