Last night was the best night of sleep I have had since The Little Guy came. I think we went to bed at 10ish. At 2:15 am, I woke up realizing I haven't fed the baby since before I went to bed. Of course, I had to get up and check that he was still breathing (like all moms do) and of course he was. So, I went back to bed.
I laid there for about half an hour trying to decide "Do I wake up a sleeping baby to feed him?" "He is only 4 weeks old." "What if he did cry and I just didn't hear him?" "What should I do?" "Should I wake up Hubby to ask him?" "What would an experienced mom do (because I have no experience)?" "If I feed him, will he go back to sleep right away or want to be up for 2 more hours?"
Finally I decided if I wanted anymore sleep, I should just go feed him and get it over with. So, I fed him and he fell back to sleep right away - or didn't even wake up. Hallelujah!!
Hubby's alarm went off at 5:30am. The Little Guy woke up at 5:45am. Princess woke up at 6:15am - ughhhh!
But let me just tell you, I feel great today. I don't even feel like I need a nap. I think sleeping for 5 hours straight did wonders for me today. I even accomplished some house work and I have dinner ready to pop in the oven.
I'm not expecting it, but this would be a great schedule for the next couple weeks (until he starts sleeping through the night).

My son (18 months old now) didn't sleep through the night until he was about 9 or 10 months old. He was AWFUL sleeping.
My daughter (4 months old now) started sleeping from 9 to 7:30 about a month ago. I can relate to no sleep and the praises of those odd days when sleep does come.
And it is truly amazing how wonderful you can feel after a night of more sleep that awake.
Hope things continue to go well!
:) I remember when Bubba started sleeping well; I felt like a whole new person.
We love your Little Guy. Scarlett thinks he's "so tiny" and "cute."
This is awesome!!!
I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HIM!!
He looks adorable. It was fun talking with you tonight. Miss you!
Love that first taste of good sleep! It's funny that you posted this today - just yesterday I told The Boss I felt like I had a newborn in the house. My Shaggy boy went waaaaay overboard with the snackies at a youth group party Sunday night and got up sick to his stomach as I was trying to wrap up the house and bed myself down - at 12:25 a.m. So even though I went to bed, I don't feel (two days later!!) like I went to sleep. Half an ear listening for him to be sick or to go back to bed. He hates that kind of attention, but I did it quietly from my own bed so as not to embarrass him. And I woke up several times after I heard him go back to bed - just like the 2 hour feedings. Crazy, but it kinda made me miss that sweet, cozy snuggling time of praying and nuzzling my babies!
